Voices In My Head Podcast Episode 337: Around The Mic 2 with Brothers McClurg
Old Bear Records beloved band, Brothers McClurg has made a career on stripping things down to the
raw and the simple. From the musical approach of the album, to the direct way that they share
matters of faith and God in their lyrics,
"Around the Mic Two"achieves taking the complicated matters of our lives and comforts us, the listener, through songs; songs that are adorned with the theme of God's unfailing love and His promise to always be with us.
Over the last few years, Brothers
McClurg has drawn inspiration to write the songs featured on "Around the Mic Two" and have fully
embraced their live, stripped down sound laden with some of the most beautiful harmonies and
dynamic solo guitar work in Modern Folk and Gospel Music. Each of the songs featured on "Around
the Mic Two" were performed live and tuned up during their 2018 tours, which includes a cover song by
their grandfather, Pappy McClurg and the original McClurg Family Singers that became a fan favorite
on the road.

Voices In My Head Podcast Episode 336: An Extraordinary True Story with Missy Sipes
Missy's Grandfather is pictured on the left.
This week I am joined by one of my oldest and best friends, Missy Sipes. She and her husband Brandon are amazing people but that isn't why she is on the show today. She has an amazing true story to tell about her grandparents, and it truly is amazing. It has everything: tragedy, a love story, a WWII prison camp escape, death, resurrection and generations of lives changed. You just have to hear it to know what I mean. The story is especially about what God can do with the faithfulness of a 16 year old girl who said yes to Jesus decades ago.

Voices In My Head Podcast Episode 323: Keith Getty and Sing! 2019
My guest this week on Voices In My Head is Keith Getty. Keith and his wife Kristyn Getty occupy a unique space in the world of music today as preeminent modern hymn writers. In re-inventing the traditional hymn form, they have created a catalogue of songs teaching Christian doctrine and crossing the genres of traditional, classical, folk and contemporary composition which are sung the world over.
“In Christ Alone” (penned by Keith and long-time writing partner, Stuart Townend) holds the #1 position of most-frequently-sung hymn in UK churches for the past 9 consecutive years. It was voted the #2 best-loved hymn of all time in the UK according to a BBC Songs of Praise national survey and among the top 5 hymns of all time by the UK Hymns Society. According to CCLI, it is estimated that 40 to 50 million people sing “In Christ Alone” in church services each year.
The Gettys' hymns are used both in contemporary and traditional circles, being included in most modern hymnbooks (with a number of these now listing “Getty” as the most-featured composers), while in the more contemporary church, more than 60 of their songs are featured on top 2,000 CCLI charts between the UK and USA.
The Gettys also created Sing! Concerts, Events and Conferences which exist to inspire deep theology, timeless artistry and vibrant singing for the whole family of God in cities across the world.
There is more a lot I could say about the art, artistry, and more importantly the ministry of Keith Getty, but I would rather let him speak for himself. Keith Getty, welcome to Voices In My Head.

Voices In My Head Podcast Episode #282 : Meet John Tibbs
Our featured guest this week on Voices In My Head is musician John Tibbs.
In 2016, John released his debut full-length, Dead Man Walking, to great critical acclaim. Reviewers said about the album, “with shades of Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp and Creedence Clearwater Revival, the heartland rock Tibbs traffics in is just right for the weightier, darker side of the redemption story.”
Following the success of his 2016 debut record which garnered a Top-20 AC (Christian) single and a Dove Award nomination in the Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year category, John partnered with ToneTree and Bethel/Heritage Media to release his follow up, Heartland, crowd-funded through his online community via PledgeMusic to continued great critical acclaim.
"Unabashed Midwesterner John Tibbs has released more authentic, epic and quality tunes in his short run as a professional songwriter than many artists will produce in a lifetime. Heartland brims with the kind of honest rock and roll that the late, great Tom Petty trafficked in, with the 'heart-on-his-sleeve' craftsmanship that creates an immediate bond with the listener on the first pass." — Jesus Freak Hideout
"With the Heartland EP, John Tibbs combines thought-provoking lyrics with his rock roots style. The captivating sonic landscape will keep listeners entertained song after song, indicating good things to come from Tibbs in the future.” — New Release Today

Voices In My Head Podcast Episode #212 - The Fourfold Pattern of Worship
Wednesday Jun 14, 2017
Wednesday Jun 14, 2017
On this episode we focus in on the ancient fourfold pattern of worship:
1.) Gathering
2.) Word
3.) Table
4.) Sending
This ancient pattern of worship can help restore a lack of balance to our modern worship services by helping us move away from a personality driven service, to a Trinity centered service that's involved the entire congregation in communion with God.
